Dielectric Liquid Lens (DLL)
Its function as the use electric field to change the optical lens focal length, mainly used to replace the focused optical lens group of micro-mechanical motor. Liquid lens is characterized by low power, quiet, without moving mechanical pieces. This research topic began in 2004, made us be the world first dielectric driving force technology team (according to the search to papers and patents). After years of efforts, we research and development millimeter lens with a listed company , we expected to complete 3MP AF commercial samples before the end of 2009. The next three to four years, it will be applied on the special purpose (such as: endoscopy, microscopy, etc.), and micro liquid lens.
After two years, the group spun out a start-up to commercialize the technology despite to hesitate of major Taiwanese companies due to risk concern. The spinout will devote itself to applications in mobile devices that are capable of wide range focal tuning at reasonable cost/performance ratio. In addition, the group will focus on liquid lenses with aperture of one inch and sub-mm in the coming years.
其功能為利用電場改變光學鏡頭的焦距,主要用途為取代對焦、聚焦光學鏡組的微型機械馬達,特色為低耗電、靜音、與無可移動機械件。 這研究主題始於2004年,為全球第一個提出介電力驅動技術的團隊(根據搜尋到的論文與專利);經過數年的潛沉努力,目前毫米級光圈鏡頭正與某上市公司共同進行商品化研發,預期將於2009年底前完成3MP AF商業樣品。未來三、四年,將轉進特殊用途研發 (如:內視鏡、顯微鏡等)、與微米級液態鏡頭。
