The engineer who is changing the world

Abstract:

In a fast-changing world, it is very important to solve problems by limited resources. Many students are wondering the knowledge they are learning nowadays will be useful in the future. What topic of the degree thesis shall I study? What kind of SCI papers shall I submit? What kind of jobs shall I work? What is my career life? Dr. Liao graduated from the mechanical fields, however he walked out the frame to touch markets and customers. It enhances his working targets and enthusiasm. One of his inventions in ITRI project is commercialized and used by firefighters and save many lives in fire scenes. It makes him believe what he is doing in the office and laboratory is no longer the cold data or drawings. Because it is a real and warm story. And it indeed changes the world to be better. Dr. Liao will share his working experiences in the Center for Aero and Space Technology and Green Energy & Environment Research Laboratories from the viewpoint of a mechanical student and an engineer. It includes fundamental research, innovative application, new venture start-up, intellectual property and reinvention. This will make NTHU students lay their foundation and direction earlier before entering the workplace.
