Realization of a High Resolution MEMS SpectroChip for Home Healthcare, Food Safety and IoT Applications
ABSTRACT
Spectrum analyzing instruments have been applied for optical communication, bio-chemical analysis, remote sensing, biosensor, etc. Conventional grating-based spectrometers consist of optical components, which make the whole system large, complex and expensive. To reduce the size, various micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) fabrication techniques have been proposed and realized. We have successfully designed and fabricated a micro grating spectral chip – SpectroChip. SpectroChip is embedded into handheld device to perform human health checking and food safety inspections.
