Metal Oxide Cluster and Nanostructured Carbon Materials for Energy Storage Applications and Experience Sharing of Study Abroad
Abstract:
The first part of this presentation will be the introduction of metal oxide clusters and nanostructured carbon materials for energy storage applications. Energy storage has emerged as a key technological challenge in the field of power generation and transporting renewable energy sources. Tremendous effort has been focused on developing electrochemical energy storage devices such as Li ion batteries (LIBs), Na ion batteries (NIBs) and supercapacitors (SCs) with potential applications such as portable electronics, and electromobility. Polyoxometalates (POMs) are transition metal oxide clusters which can be assembled with various transition metal elements in a single unit. POMs with fast and reversible multi-electron redox reactions provide high psuedocapacitance with high stability. Nanostructured carbon materials offer high electronic conductivity and high surface area which are able to provide high double layer capacitance and high power density.
The second part of this presentation will be the experience sharing of study abroad, including Sweden, Germany, Singapore, and UK.
